A.M.D. Manufacturing has designed and manufactured our own petri dish with exceptional qualities that separate our dish from the competition. Our dishes are manufactured in our facility located in Ontario Canada, which enables us to ensure quality control for every dish that we make.
A.M.D. Manufacturing Inc. snug-fitting Petri dishes are manufactured from optically clear virgin polystyrene resin. Careful manufacturing, precision design and quality control assure a tight-fitting lid which prevents dehydration of organism during incubation. There is less than 1% moisture loss from the closed dish during incubation at 35°C (95°F) over a 24-hour period. Although our lids are tight-fitting, our uniquely designed squared-off edges provide a firm grip area to facilitate one-handed opening of the dish.
Another custom feature present in our dish is a dish base leg design. This specially designed feature allows for a gap between the dishes. It allows free circulation of air for an even temperature distribution in all the stacked dishes during incubation, and prevents the dishes from adhering to a wet work bench surface.
Our dishes are free of growth-inhibiting substances that could directly or indirectly interfere with bacterial growth. Compliance with good manufacturing practices assures a pyrogen-free product.

A.M.D. Manufacturing Inc. snug fitting Petri Dishes are manufactured to meet or exceed the standards for equipment and materials listed by the United States Safe Drinking Water Act (Public Law 93-523) and as approved by the Environmental Protection Agency and referenced in “The Standard Methods for Water and Waste Water,” (Current Edition); APHA, WPCF. The resin used in the manufacture of the Petri Dishes is biologically and chemically inert and complies with the specifications contained in the U.S.A Food and Drug Administration Regulation 21 CFR 177.1640 for polystyrene. No mould release agents or growth-inhibiting additives that could directly or indirectly interfere with bacterial growth are used in the manufacture of this quality product.
